Session Ten ” Technology and Renewable Energies “

As part of the Comprehensive Youth Training Program for Climate Work (2024), a session titled “Technology and Renewable Energies” was held on July 30. The Executive Director of the National Forum for Environment and Sustainable Development, Engineer Mohammed Al-Yetari, presented the session.

Al-Yetari reviewed the experiences of countries that transitioned from reliance on traditional energy sources to renewable energy sources, such as Japan, China, the United States, India, and Italy. He highlighted some successes and failures in these experiences and the advantages gained by these countries.

He noted the low rates of renewable energy usage in Arab countries, urging them to adopt policies aimed at replacing traditional energy sources with renewable ones, due to their importance for environmental preservation and their potential to open up sustainable economic and developmental opportunities.

The Comprehensive Youth Training Program for Climate Work (2024), launched by the National Forum for Environment and Sustainable Development in partnership with Jerash University in Jordan, the Arab Youth Network for Sustainable Development, and the Aman Initiative in Jordan, is the first training program of its kind in the Arab region.
